ZTHollandia Theatre
Publications

When in 2001 theater group Hollandia and Het Zuidelijk Toneel merged to become ZTHollandia we were asked to develop the new identity. ZTH, which by then was one of Holland's largest theater groups, was well known for it's location theater at e.g. farms, abandoned factories and laboratories of universities.

For the identity we chose to work with type heavy collateral (plays) for which we developed a bold and somewhat quirky typeface (imperfection is remembered). The rebellious and sometimes revolutionary approach
of the company generated the secondary base for the identity, the 45 degree angle, inspired by early Russian socialism.

For ZTH we developed posters, books, banners, website, programs, and postcards for all plays, until 2005 when the company changed creative directors and ceased to exist.
