Description

Formations: New practises in Australian Architecture.
Anthony Burke, Gerard Reinmuth and Toko are the creative team responsible for the Australian Exhibition at the 13th Venice International Architecture Biennale - the world's most important architectural event.

The curatorial anchor 'Formations: New Practices in Australian Architecture'- comes to life in an exhibition designed to challenge traditionally held beliefs about what architecture can be, and celebrates new opportunities for architects working in non-traditional ways".

We celebrate the current Australian pavilion (it will be demolished and replaced) and it's distinctive floor plan through the overarching concept for both exhibition and visual identity.

The Formations concept, logo, visual language, way finding, talks, environmental design, collateral, side-events, exhibitors and exhibition design answers a long standing urge to create a true gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art) whereby the sum of all parts form one cohesive and considered solution, and architecture, branding and experience become a truly holistic audience experience.

Formations Catalogue
Toko's design of the Formations catalogue, accompanying the exhibition, comprehensively documents the curatorial thread 'Formations'. Including essays from Creative Directors, Gerard Reinmuth and Anthony Burke, it accompanies and expands on the exhibition being prepared for the Australian Pavilion.
