Het Zuidelijk Toneel (The Southern Theatre) is one of the largest theatre companies in the Netherlands. The company performs in theatres, on site-specific locations and in small venues in The Netherlands and Flanders. Under artistic leadership of Matthijs Rümke, it enables a small number of chosen directors and writers to produce and perform works under the heading of HZT.

In close collaboration with the Theatre company Toko created a very democratic identity (2004),
in which the name of the theatre group and specific plays are equally present. Posters are preprinted and overprinted, a style maintained throughout the whole identity.

The result is a highly recognizable identity, which neutral and pure character enables HZT to stand out in the highly designed and sometimes cluttered Dutch theatre landscape.
